  3.     More than 20 teenage readers strongly disagreed with the
  4. statement in our report on violence by the young (June 12) that
  5. rock music is a "potentially destructive . . . part of teenage
  6. culture." One teen remarked that the influence of such music is
  7. "largely hype . . . we do not take it seriously." According to
  8. another, "Making rock lyrics, horror movies and comic books the
  9. scapegoats for teenage violence is absurd."
